  2. Lima News (Lima)

    Headquartered in Lima, Ohio, the Lima News serves over 79,000 readers in Allen, Hancock, Shelby, Hardin, and additional surrounding counties. It was founded in 1884 and was sold to AIM Media Midwest in 2017.

  3. Minority Communicator News

    The youngest newspaper on this list, the Communicator News was founded in 1988 and serves primarily the African-American community in and around the state of Ohio.     In conjunction with Cleveland.com, The Plain Dealer is the highest-circulated newspaper in Ohio. The Plain Dealer is run by The Plain Dealer Publishing Co., and Advance Ohio controls cleveland.com — both are owned by Advance Publications.     The Akron Beacon Journal is the only daily newspaper in Akron, Ohio. Its first issue was published in 1839, and it covers mostly local news and business. The Beacon Journal has a daily circulation of over 60,000 (85,000 on Sundays).

  6. News-Herald

  7. The Vindicator

    Founded in 1869 as the Mahoning Vindicator. In 1984, it was renamed The Vindicator, and in the late 1980s, nearly 70 politicians, mafia members, etc. were convicted of criminal acts as a result of its reporting. Today, the paper serves Youngstown, Ohio, Mahoning County, and the surrounding areas.

  8. The Canton Repository

    The Canton Repository, also called the Repository, serves the Canton and Stark County areas. Like a handful of other newspapers on this list, it’s owned and operated by Gannett Co. As of 2019, the Repository had a daily circulation of nearly 40,000.

  9. The Cincinnati Enquirer

    The Cincinnati Enquirer is the highest daily circulation newspaper in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas. This paper also publishes a Northern Kentucky edition called the Kentucky Enquirer with a different front page design. These publications are also owned by Gannett Co. As of 2019, the Cincinnati Enquirer had a readership of 109,687 (207,968 on Sundays).
